Followed by the controversial decision by Malaysia Airlines introducing “child-free cabin” on Business Class and A380 Upper Deck Economy Class, AirAsia X has announced it’ll be launching “Quiet Zone” on its Airbus A330 fleet, starting Feb 2013.
Row 7 to 14 (first 7 rows of Economy Economy) is designated as “Quiet Zone”, which features:
*Minimal noise with no disturbances
*Strategically located right behind the Premium Seats
*Special ambience lighting
Passengers with children travelling that are age 12 and under (including infants), will not be able to book seats in the Quiet Zone.
Additional information is posted on AirAsia X’s website. Note there are exceptions, which is noted on the webpage “AirAsia X reserves the right to seat a passenger with a Child or Infant at the Quiet Zone during situations deemed necessary for operational, safety or security reasons.”
