ANZEIGE
Jetstar is likely to launch services into southern Europe from 2012. Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said southern Italy and Greece are among the probable destinations. But he ruled out operating into northern Europe until Jetstar takes delivery of the much-delayed Boeing 787s which do not start arriving until 2013/14. “We have acquired five additional A330s which do have the capability of getting to southern Europe so Jetstar will possibly be looking at that from 2012 onward,†Joyce said. “It depends on the market conditions at the time and it depends on the negotiations with the various hub destinations in Asia. We need to make sure we get the right arrangements that are conducive to a Jetstar service.†He insisted the 787 remains a “game changing aircraft†despite its protracted delays.
“We are still very excited about the aircraft. It will enhance Qantas’s premium status and give Jetstar the range to go to northern Europe,†Joyce said.
