Flight disruptions are occurring at Moscow airports Aug. 6 due to thick smoke from forest and peat-bog fires east of the city. Many outbound flight have been delayed and some incoming flights at Domodedovo (DME) and Vnukovo (VKO) airports diverted as of midday. Many diverted flights are landing at Moscow's northern Sheremetyevo (SVO) Airport, though others have been sent to Pulkovo (LED) Airport in St. Petersburg and Kazan (KZN) Airport. Flight disruptions may continue in the coming days.
