@mimotrip
2007-03-05 RG2763 FLN CGH ---- ---- mimotrip

Könntest du bei dem nochmal schauen, ob die Flugnummer korrekt ist?

Ich hab bei golfalphabravo (von dem der LInk mit der Datenbank kommt) nachgefragt und das folgende als Antwort bekommen.

Here it gets trickier. But let's go.

VARIG did not stop operating under RG code (thanks to G3 acquisition) until well into 2009. Planes with RG livery flew well into 2014, but with G3 code from 2010. The acquisition happened on March 28, 2007, pretty close to the date of the flight you're looking for. They were a mess of an airline back then, and the country wasn't faring very well either, due to Caos Aéreo. Since GOL had not acquired VARIG yet, you can discard GOL as well.

VARIG was split in 2 for the sale. VRG and VRN. VRG was sold to GOL, and VRN was the bankrupt division. It later led to the creation of Flex Linhas Aéreas, but that is even more complicated.

Back to the flights, there were plenty of cancellations back in the day, as well as delays. RG2761, 2765 and 2777 were planned, but not operated, showing the mess at the airline and the country. But despite the mess, RG2763 does not appear in the database in March 05, 2007, or in any date between March 01 and March 31, not even as cancelled/not operated.

To see schedules, only, you should use this website. It does not list registrations, however: https://sas.anac.gov.br/sas/bav/view/frmConsultaVRA
Perhaps it can help to find schedules, before going to the database searching for registrations. Ignore the REALIZADO remark, it does not mean it happened if it does not have actual departure and arrival times.

These were the flights in March 05 operated by VRN (it is VARIG, don't worry):

RG9037 FLN 14:50 CGH 16:04 (PP-VOO)
RG9085 FLN 21:44 CGH 23:02 (PP-VNX)

Or, an extremely wild card. PP-VON came from CGH to FLN as RG9044. Then flew to CGH back via LDB, which may have been a diversion, or most likely, a combination of flights, given the struggle of the airline at the time. There is no chance it was planned from the start, FLN to LDB is not a viable commercial route. Those individual cities to CGH each, however, are.

RG9044 FLN 12:10 LDB 13:26 + RG9045 LDB 13:44 CGH 14:55 (PP-VON)

They are listed as not regular flights, but it makes sense, as the airline was operating on borrowed time. This pattern repeats itself on near days, indicating regular flight numbers on the route never took off as planned. In contrast, TAM and GOL flights took off mostly as planned.

Just as an precaution, the other airlines flights on the route were:

GOL

G31603 FLN 22:04 CGH 23:32 (PR-GOL)
G31687 FLN 15:54 CGH 17:22 (PR-GOL)
G31955 FLN 13:39 CGH 14:45 (PR-GTK)
G31961 FLN 07:02 CGH 08:25 (PR-GTJ)
G31979 FLN 17:58 CGH 19:06 (PR-GTJ)

TAM

JJ3100 FLN 07:00 CGH 08:09 (PR-MAF)
JJ3102 FLN 10:31 CGH 11:37 (PT-MZP)
JJ3104 FLN 18:30 CGH 19:34 (PT-MZT)
JJ3108 FLN 14:42 CGH 15:45 (PT-MZM)
JJ3110 FLN 20:52 CGH 21:56 (PR-MAQ)
