Da es hier offenbar nicht konkret bekannt zu sein scheint, zitiere ich mal eine Email, die ich von Finnair erhalten habe:
Finnair Plus will enter a new era on 9 March 2024. Our program will become spend-based and we will also adopt Avios as our new loyalty currency. You can read more about the change here.
We will implement all the changes into our systems over four days from Friday 8 March (18:00 EET) to Monday 11 March (07:00 EET) 2024. During that time, some of Finnair Plus services will be unavailable. We will also update all the Finnair Plus-related webpages, and between 8 and 11 March, some of the information on the pages may not be fully up to date.
We have gathered all the important information about the service break here for you.
Affected services during the service break from Friday 8 March (18:00 EET) to Monday 11 March (07:00 EET) 2024:
- Logging in: You won’t be able to log in to your Finnair Plus account on any platform (finnair.com, Finnair app or Nordic Sky).
- Finnair.com: If you have logged in to your account online at Finnair.com, we will log you out on 8 March at 18:00 (EET).
- Finnair app: If you have logged in to Finnair app you will remain logged in and can continue to use the application. However, you won’t be able to see up-to-date point information during the service break. You can also use the app without logging in as usual. We recommend updating to the latest app version.
- Nordic Sky: If you wish to use your membership benefit for a complimentary internet connection during the service break, please remember to add your membership number to your booking beforehand in the Manage booking service because it won’t be possible to log in to your Finnair Plus account onboard the flight.
- Joining the program: It is not possible to join Finnair Plus program.
- Balance and benefits: You won’t be able to see your account balance, including tier point and loyalty currency balance, transactions, vouchers, and other benefits.
- Using award points or Avios: You won’t be able to use Finnair Plus loyalty currency. This means you can’t purchase award flights, travel class upgrades, travel extras, pre-order meals or onboard products with loyalty currency, or buy flights with the combination of money and loyalty currency. Also, you won’t be able to pay Finnair Plus partner’s services with Finnair Plus loyalty currency.
- Travel class upgrades: It won’t be possible to use loyalty currency or upgrade benefits to upgrade travel class. If you have already requested a travel class upgrade with an upgrade benefit or loyalty currency, your upgrade follows the normal process. If your upgrade is not confirmed, we will refund the upgrade benefits or loyalty currency after the service break. You can request a travel class upgrade with money also during the service break.
- Gold gift cards: Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo members will not be able to give a Gold card as a gift to another Finnair Plus member.
- Finnair Shop: Finnair Shop will be temporarily closed. This means it is not possible to buy, transfer, or exchange loyalty currency, or purchase any awards or products from Finnair Shop.
- Customer service:
- Finnair Plus customer service for Basic and Silver members will be closed.
- Finnair Plus customer service for Gold, Platinum and Platinum Lumo members will stay open, but we won’t be able to handle any Finnair Plus-related matters.
- Claiming missing Avios won’t be available. The form will be temporarily removed from our website already on 7 March 2024 (12:00 EET). You can claim missing Avios again after the service break.
- Submitting a claim request for flight disruptions or baggage issues will not be possible because it requires logging in. If you need to create a claim, please do it before or after the service break.
During the service break, you can continue to enjoy all your other tier benefits related to baggage, airport services and flights, such as priority services at the airport, baggage allowance, and lounge access.
After the service break, you will be able to see your updated Avios and tier point balance and transactions both in the Finnair app and My Finnair Plus on
finnair.com.
