as I cannot publish it to the google play store because I don't own flightaware you can directly download the app on android device from this link.
The app doesn't ask for access to your files or anything of that, it only requires access to internet
However, if you are skeptical about downloading the apk file (and I understand), I also published the code here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15-JuAGAE3ERK5bybaqT5NiQ8GbneI2je so you can manually recreate and run the app project if you want, on a Windows computer, you can download the software Android Studio (the software used for developing android apps) from this link: https://developer.android.com/studio , (no coding required from your side) create a new project, you would see a window like this:

choose "Empty activity" and click next,

fill these as above, and click finish (change the save location according to your computer)
then wait for the project to build.
then click file>new>activity>Empty Activity
Under Activity name: write FlightActivity, then click finish.
then again click file>new>activity>Empty Activity
Under Activity name: write RegActivity, then click finish.
wait for project to build, then: open windows explorer, go to that folder path: C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AndroidStudioProjects\Flightfinder\app\src\main (replace YOUR_USERNAME with your username), and replace everything inside the main folder, with the content of the main folder that I uploaded on google drive. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1H7N6TJFexJATyu5Z_n_G0gL9xRqwx8X-
You can also check the code files (MainActivity.java , FlightActivity.java, and RegActivity.java) and layout files (activity_main.xml , activity_flight.xml and activity_reg.xml) ad modify them to your needs if you have programming knowledge.

To run the app, on the android device, you first need to enable USB debugging, you can google search how to enable it. then connect the android device to the PC, if a popup appears on the phone, choose "transfer files", then on Android studio click "Run", wait for the project to build and that's it! enjoy!

I never heard of that before, you made me worried we can try to reduce the number of attempts to the website

One reason for not finding them is that you used a wrong search string for the flight number. You have to use the airline IACO code instead of IATA code and without leading zeros.

e.g. IGO254 instead of 6E0254
