One reason for not finding them is that you used a wrong search string for the flight number. You have to use the airline IACO code instead of IATA code and without leading zeros.

eg IGO254 instead of 6E0254
I did put the ICAO codes, which would be IGO, SEJ and JLL for me. My suspicion for the difficulty in finding these flights arises from the lack of ACARS installed on aircraft at that time. Not all but most of them, especially those operated on domestic routes. It was only after the MH370 disaster did the Indian Government made it mandatory for all aircraft to have them, hence I was able to easily find the flights I took in 2015.

I did remember a particular detail regarding 6E254 a few days ago. The pilot of the aircraft did mention that the aircraft was "new". Now I am not sure but I would like to ask: do pilots usually say this when an aircraft is new? I checked planespotters.net and the newest aircraft at my date of flight was about a month old.

OIC, I'm sorry. Read it as your search string for FA but it was only the overview for searched flights

"In June of 1993 or 1994 I was on an America West (HP) 737-300 flying RNO-PDX and we diverted to Klamath Falls for a broken outer windshield pane. We then flew back to Reno and were put on a Reno Air MD-80 and flown to PDX. If anyone could find that date / tail number (and the subsequent Reno Air flight) - I'd be astonished."

"Detailed Statistics Diversion
Origin Airport: Reno, NV: Reno/Tahoe International (RNO)
Carrrier Code Date (MM/DD/YYYY) Flight Number Tail Number Destination Airport
HP 06/28/1993 525 PDX

That's DEFINTELY it - it was the Monday after the Reno rodeo - which concluded on 6/27/1993
"

Acars Copenhagen reported for these callsigns the following flights. (FRA-BUD seems to be the old routing for this callsign since CPH won't track flights FRA-BUD)

That's DEFINTELY it - it was the Monday after the Reno rodeo - which concluded on 6/27/1993
"

Oh, this is a fun one! Here's what I think: A diversion with a broken windshield would have made the local news in Klamath Falls. It's possible the local newspaper would have sent a reporter and - crucially for our interest here! - a photographer to cover the news at the local airport. So I would get in the touch with that local newspaper, the Klamath Falls Herald News, and ask for their archive, and look at the June 29, 1993 issue - the one where they likely published the story. Here's the contact info. If they published a picture with a visible regi, then mission accomplished.

But even if they haven't, there's a possibility. In 1993 news photographers were shooting slides, and the newspaper may have an archive. You may have to go to Klamath Falls to look that up. Or even more excitingly, to find the photographer if s/he is still around, and ask if they have any photos of the incident. The place is a little bit out of the way, but imagine the joy in solving this mystery :)

Good idea. (y)I already tried to find the newspaper archives and found also that the KF Herald News could have reported it but unfortunately I found no public access.

Also going to KL sounds somehow exciting and I really like to solve such cases but I don't like reg searching that much to travel from Germany to somewhere in the middle of nowhere. 😇😅

Call the newspaper's office and ask to speak to an editor! Or email. I guarantee you that it will be the most exciting thing to have happened in Klamath Falls in a while. They might even write an article about it. You might even become kind of famous in KF. (Not completely joking!)

So strange: When I try to open the link you send I got an error message that due to EU GDP rules I'm not allowed to enter the site. So I contacted them on Facebook. Let's see if they can help.
