Dear Dee,
Denizen has exciting news that will require some action on your part. Please read below to ensure your Denizen service is not interrupted.
Changing service provider
On January 23, 2019 we will start operating in Europe under a new licensed payment entity in the EU, Denizen Global Financial SAU (“Denizen EU”), a subsidiary of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (“BBVA”), with registered offices in Plaza Santa Bárbara 1, 28004 Madrid and tax identification number A83439893. This means we must change the service provider from BBVA to our new entity. The change will enable us to expand and improve our services as part of BBVA Group.
One example of our new service that will be available is the ability to pay your bills in the EU and US (if you also have your US underlying account opened) via Direct Debit from your Denizen global account. This means that you can use your IBAN or routing and bank account numbers to pay your utility bill, credit card bill, mortgage and most other services that accept this payment method in EUR and USD.
For customers who have linked multiple external accounts, we will continue displaying your financial transactions among these accounts, but in order to avoid confusion with your Denizen balance we will no longer display the total of all balances.
We need your consent to maintain service
After receiving your consent, we will transfer your personal data to Denizen EU, as the new service provider in the EU. When you log into Denizen on or after this date you will be required to approve such transfer and our amended agreements before accessing Denizen. If you chose not to accept the transfer, your account will be closed. In order for us to close your account, you will have to provide us with another account so that we can transfer your funds to you.
We take data privacy seriously
Expanding our services requires us to establish Denizen EU as our new service provider. This means your personal info, account data, and contractual data will be transferred to Denizen EU. We take your data privacy very seriously, and for your protection under GDPR regulations we require your approval before we transfer this data.
What do you have to do right now?
You will not have to take any action until on or after January 23, 2019 when, upon next accessing the App you will be presented with the option to approve. You will not be able to access your account information without accepting the new terms and conditions, and agreeing to the transfer of your data to Denizen EU.
New data privacy policy
Please read Denizen EU’s data privacy policy for more information.
